Friday, January 30th, 2009

1/31 at all 3 House of Hoops locations and select Foot Lockers and Footactions, Lakers editions of the Air Jordan Six Rings and two AJ1 Phat Lows (wht and black) will drop.

This release is the beginning of the 2nd wave of chronicling teams MJ beat in the NBA championships. Air Max 90 - neutral grey/mean green

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

Foot Locker is launching several fresh new styles of the Nike Air Max 90 this year. Here’s a peek at a neutral grey/mean green colorway hitting stores this March. The green to white gradient effect found below the ankle area is an immediate attention grabber. Rather than solid color blocks found on most Max 90’s, the gradient feature makes this shoe unique. The upper and toe box are predominantly grey, the sole is made up of both white and grey, and green accents are found on several areas of the shoe (air bubble, swoosh, and below the ankle). Additionally, the toebox and ankle area provide breathability with an unusual mesh material. Stay tuned for another colorup similar to this style of the Air Max 90. In the meantime, here’s a closer look at this colorway.

Nike Terra Humara Considered gry/orng/roy

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

From cars to clothing to shower heads, a safer environment is today’s top priority. In April 2009, Foot Locker is launching the Nike Terra Humara Considered, which is an environmentally friendly sneaker. Haven’t been as ‘green’ as most people and not sure where to begin? Besides the unique look and comfort factor, this shoe is a good first step in showing appreciation and consideration for the planet. While lacking material that is harmful to the environment, this style of the Terra Humara reuses leftover materials. In addition, each area of the shoe is attached by either stitching or lacing, so no toxic glue. Check out the gallery for a closer look.

Nike Air Griffey Max 1 Retro vroyal/wht/blk/volt

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

If you’re excited about the March ‘09 release of the Air Griffey Max 1, get ready for more good news. Foot Locker is going to follow up with a vroyal/wht/blk/volt colorway in May ‘09. The colors get a little flashier as we edge toward summer, and I think this May release is my favorite. Enjoy, more shots in the gallery.

Pro-Keds Royal Master Mid

Monday, January 26th, 2009

Foot Locker is bringing back the old-school at the end of February with the Pro-Keds Royal Master Mid. The two colorways hitting stores are the black and wht/blue/rd pictured below.

Quick history lesson: the Royal Master Mid launched in 1971, and was the shoe of choice for NYC playground legend Nate “Tiny” Archibald during his run with the Kansas City Kings (who actually played half their games in Omaha, and later moved to Sacramento). Frosty Freeze, a founding member of the Rock Steady Crew, also did his breakin’ in the Royal Master Mid. That’s a pretty legit rep for any shoe.

Nike Air Griffey Max 1 Retro wht/water/v.red/blk

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

Remember the Nike Air Griffey Max 1’s? Well now with its March 2009 release, plan on copping a pair at your local Foot Locker. Retros always build up excitement because it provides an opportunity to pick up a pair of kicks that may not have made it into the collection during it’s original launch. It’s been almost thirteen years since the Griffey Max 1’s were seen on the shelf, so here’s a preview of the fresh white/water/var.red/black colorway. Stitched on the velcro strap is a #24 representing Griffey’s career while playing for the Seattle Mariners. This period, 1989-1999, is the time in which the original Air Griffey Max 1 released. On the bottom of the sole there’s an added detail of a ‘flaming’ baseball, along with a variety of red accents found on different areas of the shoe. For more detailed shots, check out the gallery.

Stay posted for info. on an additional colorway, due to release in May 2009.
