New Air Griffey Max 1

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

Ken Griffey Jr’s Cross training line has to be one of the sickest in Nike’s catalogue. The sleek lines and chunky Max Air midsoles definitely broke necks over a decade ago. This holiday season, off the strength of it’s recent OG colorway release, Foot Locker will have a smooth blacked out version of the Air Max Griffey from ‘96. We will have the release date for you soon. Hopefully, this Air Max cross trainer play is a good sign of things to come… Nike has a lot of Max Air XT heat in their back pocket…..

UPDATE: RELEASE PUSHED TO 5/16

Boing, Boing, Boing……….. That’s the first thing that hits me when I see the Shox BB4. This iconic shoe was featured in classic commercials where a quiet Vince Carter would leap over a trash talkin’, Super -Afroed Gary Payton. For anybody who slept on these the first time, all three House of Hoops are getting an exclusive run of the ever-clean white/silver colorway. Your only chance to cop’em at retail will be at House of Hoops this April 18th. More detailed shots in the gallery.

Monday, March 30th, 2009

Playstation isn’t the only gaming system collaborating with Nike these days. Wii has teamed up with Nike to create an Air Max 95, Blazer Hi, and now an Air Force 2 releasing this week at all 3 House of Hoops. There’s no hard date so check with the store, but pairs will be in the next few days.
The Air Force 2 is getting more attention in 2009, with the Chicago AF2 from the “For the Love of the City” pack (released in February), and now this Wii edition. More shots after the jump.

Jazz Championship Series Reminder

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

We let you know two weeks ago, but now that we’re two days away don’t forget that the Jazz Championship Series Pack is releasing at House of Hoops and limited Foot Lockers this Saturday, 3/28. This is the last of the Championship Series Packs that commemorate MJ’s NBA championship run with designs based on the losing teams from the finals. The packs consist of a Six Rings and AJ1 Phat Low home and away. Other packs to release were the Sonics, Suns, Trailblazers, and Lakers.
This is the last one so don’t sleep on it, and the Jazz lost to the Bulls in the finals twice, so these should carry twice the weight.

The Zoom Lebron VI “Christ the King” is going to be at House of Hoops this coming Saturday 3/28. This is a very limited run so get there early. Store shots below with more angles after the jump. Good luck coppin yours.

Kobe at House of Hoops Chicago

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

House of Hoops Chicago was the place to be this past Sunday, March 22, when Kobe Bryant stopped by to launch the new Nike Zoom Kobe IV Lower Merion. Crowds of up to 2000 people gathered at the store eager to catch a glimpse of Kobe and get their hands on his latest kicks, inspired by the athlete’s alma mater, Lower Merion High School. The crimson and white colorway, along with the Lower Merion High School Aces team logo, pay tribute to the place where Kobe’s career really started. While at the store, Kobe took part in a brief Q&A and then signed autographs for fans.

Converse Chuck Hi Monos

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

The all-around love for the classic Converse Chuck Taylor is still going strong since its first release in 1917… and they keep bringing new styles. In September, Foot Locker is going to be releasing another version of the Chucks, called the Mono. The Chuck Taylor Hi Mono has everything that the All-Star has, but in one solid color (mono=monochromatic) and the logo is translucent, almost making it blend into its side. Three fresh colorways, Charcoal, Chocolate and Royal, will be the first to drop. For more detailed shots of each check the gallery.

On Saturday 3/28 the Utah Jazz Six Rings won’t be the only Six Rings to hit Foot Locker and House of Hoops stores. A new WHT/FLINTGRY/UBLU Six Rings will also be dropping the same day. This model returns to the retro roots of the Six Rings, while the Road to the Championship Six Rings have started to take on their own direction with a leather upper and additional graphics. The WHT/FLINTGRY/UBLU is a retro inspired color blocking, reminiscent of the french blue Jordan XIII, and there is also a mesh upper a la the original Six Rings. Store shots below with more angles after the jump.
