The last city tribute pack to drop at House of Hoops was the “For the Love of the City” pack back in February, and after a short break there are some more exclusives on their way, dropping 6/19. There is another Houston tribute (February’s version was a vandal high with dripping sizzrup) but this one reps the city’s important role in space exploration: it is the home of the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center. The center trains astronauts and is most famously known for housing the Mission Control Center, which coordinates with astronauts during their outer-space missions. Remember Apollo 13? “Houston we have a problem.” The LBJ Center is the reason Houston is nicknamed “Space City.”

This Big Nike Low is mostly silver, with a tarnished silver presence on the back and heel paneling. The heel also has a stitched Nike encircled by a planetary ring. The dark navy outsole is speckled with white, resembling the dark expanses of space dotted with stars. More shots in the gallery.

[...] The “Space City” Big Nike Low features a silver upper with a tarnished metallic heel panel and a navy blue patent leather Swoosh. Also of note are the planetary ring Nike logo on the heel and the speckled outsole that resembles an infinite galaxy loaded with those stars that we hear are so big and bright at night deep in the heart of Texas. These will be released as a House of Hoops exclusive on June 19th. Via FootLockerUnlocked. [...]
