Originally made infamous on the Zoom Kobe IV (the wrong draft date was printed on the heel on some pairs) the Charlotte Hornets themed “Draft Day” color has become a staple for the Kobe line. Made to celebrate the team that first drafted Kobe Bryant right out of high school, this Zoom Kobe V Hornets Draft Day (white/orion blue/varsity purple/black) will hit Foot Locker and footlocker.com in May.

By now you know it’s the lightest lowest basketball shoe available, so I’ll skip straight to the unique detailing on this colorway. The upper is mostly white, with a reptile textured orion blue swoosh on the lateral side. This same texture is seen again on the blue section of the tongue. The translucent blue outsole with its heart-monitor traction has opaque purple piecing in the forefoot, with a purple Kobe logo on the heel. The laces are purple with blue dots, a pattern seen on a lot of Kobe V laces.
