A few weeks back we gave you a first look at Reebok’s new basketball shoe, utilizing the popular Zigtech sole found on the Reebok Zig Pulse. Reactions have been all over the place, but it seems that everyone is intrigued. This Reebok Zig Slash in Gunmetal Comet is scheduled to hit Foot Locker stores in December.

The unique ZigTech outsole is designed to transfer energy from your heel strike forward through your sole (visualize the way waves shoot through a slinky when you shake one end). An interesting note on the outsole though: there was concern that traction would be an issue with the foam sole having minimal rubberized traction on the toe. We have learned that the actual Zig Slash release (not reflected on this sample) will have rubberized traction on the heel as well as the forefoot to prevent slippage. More shots in the Gallery.
