In this series we take a dive into our extensive sample closet to pull out some long lost favorites that once graced the shelves of Foot Locker stores. Anyone still have their Air Jordan Retro 5 “Laney High School” from 2000?

The sample above is the White/Varsity Maize/Varsity Royal Air Jordan Retro 5 that dropped in 2000, and has not been retroed since. It was not one of the original four colors of the Air Jordan V from 1990, but the colorway was still a big hit based off of Michael Jordan’s high school colors, Laney High School in North Carolina. Eleven years of life has yellowed the mesh windows and clear upper, but this shoe is still a looker. It sports the embroidered “23” near the heel, which only appeared on one of the original Jordan V’s (White/Fire Red/Black) and has been sporadically applied to retroes and fusions ever since. If anyone’s got their Laney’s hit us up in the comments, Facebook, or Twitter. Enjoy the memories.
