Only the best make the playoffs, and you need a shoe that will get you to the promised land.

Playoffs. That’s what all teams aspire to at the start of the season. Make the playoffs then start thinking about the NBA Finals. For the Knicks, 8 long years had passed since their last playoff appearance, since the last times games at the end of April mattered. Carmelo Anthony came to New York in a mid-season trade, and combined with Amar’e Stoudemire to give Knicks fans a new hope for the future. During the playoffs, Carmelo wore the Air Jordan Melo 7 Advance shoe. The M7 Advance has an upper constructed with Flywire and a both Zoom Air and Max Air to give maximum cushioning. The tongue is a sock-fit with the MELO logo in Knicks orange.

The Air Jordan Melo M7 Future Sole is the brainchild of the Future Sole 2010 Competition winner Allen Largin. Carmelo wore the shoe during the season, and Syracuse wore them in the orange colorway during the NCAA tournament. The M7 Future Sole retains the same form factor as the M7, with an upper constructed of leather being the most notable difference. The blue stripes pay homage to Indy car racing. ‘Chelle’ the name of Carmelo’s late sister is inscribed on the instep, and the ‘Future Sole’ logo is on the tongue.

The M7 Advance and M7 Future go on sale Wednesday August 24th exclusively at House of Hoops by Foot Locker.
