Welcome back to The Sample Closet! Today we have one of my favorite kicks: the Nike Air More Uptempo. Check them out after the jump.
We dug deep into our Sample Closet and pulled out a gem. Originally released in 1996, the Nike Air More Uptempo was the signature shoe for the Chicago Bull’s Scottie Pippen. That Bulls team set an NBA record winning 72 games in the regular season, en route to winning the NBA championship. If you got to watch that historic season, you saw the Uptempo’s featured prominently in every game. There was no mistaking which shoe Scottie was wearing, thanks to the large ‘AIR’ on both sides of the shoe. The Uptempo featured a Max AIR sole, making for a comfortable ride. The original was made of nubuck, while our sample came in leather. This sample was the basis for the Olympic Uptempo Scottie wore during the 1996 Olympics.
