Though it’s official name wouldn’t let on, the adiZero Rose 2.5 will be Derrick Rose’s fourth signature shoe from adidas. Weighing in at only 11 ounces, the adiZero Rose 2.5 is even lighter than the Rose 2.0, which was released in October 2011. One of the most obvious changes on the Rose 2.5 is the addition of ankle padding in place of the ankle cut out on the 2.0. The black/red version of the shoe, which will be released on February 2 along with the white/grey/red edition, features satellite imagery of the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago where Rose grew up on the toe box.
