It has been rumored for months what the Jordan 2012 would look like. After much speculation and banter on the interwebs, we finally know. Much like the Kobe VII that dropped for the first time last year, the Jordan 2012 is a system shoe in which one can swap out inserts to change performance. However, the Jordan 2012 takes it one step further. The new Jordan, in addition to being a high top, allows you not only to pick the level of ankle protection you’d like, but the inside sole of the shoe, as well. The two levels of ankle support are simply “lo” and “hi” with the “hi” option including ankle pads and a strap. The next choice you’ll have to make is which sole you’d like to use or, as the packaging puts it, “Choose your flight.” The three options for flight are:
“Fly Around” – quick responses to every step
“Fly Over” – high elevations from your jump
“Fly Through” – strong and explosive drives
The shoe insert comes in a three tiered box, unlike any other. Hopefully your closet will have room for a small dresser dedicated to the new Jordan 2012.
The Jordan 2012 seems to be much more of a performance shoe than the Retros that the brand has become famous for. That being said, this sneaker looks to be one of a kind and one that ballers everywhere will be eager to try out.
The “Wolf Grey” colorway will be releasing tomorrow, February 8 in Foot Locker stores. The University blue colorway will be available at all House of Hoops locations. The Jordan 2012 has a retail price of $223 and will release at midnight online only at Footlocker.com.
