Originally released in 1971, the adidas Americana was a basketball shoe seen mainly on the courts of the ABA. Throughout the years, adidas has tinkered with the Americana collection and has released the shoes in several different colorways and styles. The original models had a mesh upper with a leather toe box, while those produced in the mid 1970’s featured a half shell, half suede toe box. At the tail end of the 70’s, adidas created a version which featured a nylon upper with a suede toe box.
In 2003, adidas reissued the American using the original ABA colors – red, white and blue – and now in 2012 they are bringing the colorways back again in both new and old styles just in time for Memorial Day. One of adidas’ most popular shoes, the Superstar, will be featured in several different colorways – two red, white, and blue and one grey and white. Adidas’ new Originals classic, the adi Rise 2.0, will also be included in the Pack and featured in two colorways – one predominantly blue and the other one red.

The Superstars cost $70 and the adi Rise 2.0 are $95 and will be available in stores this week. Footlocker.com will also carry the Pack. The entire Americana Pack, including kids sizes, can be found at Footlocker.com at the following link. Click here to buy online.
