NBA Draft week is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for young basketball stars about to make the leap to join the professional ranks.
Imagine growing up watching your favorite players like Lebron James or Kobe Bryant and now you’re about to enter the league and compete against them on a nightly basis. It’s a surreal feeling during draft week for these young teenagers as they experience a week like no other under the bright lights of New York City. Media responsibilities and events are all crammed into a few short days leading up to Draft night when their lives will change forever. In preparation for the big day, there are certain must haves for the future NBA stars; the draft suit, the draft watch, and now for the first time, the official stop at the Foot Locker x SLAM draft suite.
Yesterday, Foot Locker and SLAM Magazine, the best basketball magazine around, hosted an NBA Draft Suite at the Time NY Hotel in the heart of midtown in NYC. Future stars Anthony Davis, Thomas Robinson, Harrison Barnes, John Henson, Damian Lillard, Quincy Miller, Austin Rivers, Bradley Beal, Meyers Leonard, Dion Waiters, Moe Harkless, Ashton Gibbs and Bernard James all stopped by the suite to check out some of the latest Foot Locker gear and share some of their favorite sneaker stories with the SLAM editors. A few lucky Foot Locker VIP’s won the chance to hang out in the suite, meet the players, play some video games and swap sneaker stories. If you’re not a VIP yet you can join here.
Check out some photos below of some of the players’ sneaker swag who came through the suite, and check back tonight with Foot Locker Unlocked to see interviews with these future pros.
