Michael Jordan’s 1992 season marked the beginning of MJ’s prime. He was an NBA All Star, regular season MVP, won his first NBA championship, won the Finals MVP award, and an Olympic Gold Medal in Barcelona. Until LeBron James did it this year, Jordan was the only player ever to accomplish all of those feats in one season. It also marked the release of the seventh signature shoe in his Air Jordan line. Jordan sported the Raptors VII during the 1992 NBA Playoffs. We’ve recently been fortunate enough to see an OG Olympic colorway return, as well as a new Olympic inspired colorway. Now we’ll get another OG colorway release when the Jordan Retro VII “Raptors” drops today for the first time since 2002. Named after the colors of the Toronto Raptors, the Raptors VII has a mostly black nubuck upper with hints of true red and dark purple on the midsole. The tongue features some shades of grey and some yellow appears on the outsole of the shoe.
The Jordan Retro VII “Raptors” releases today, September 1 at Foot Locker, House of Hoops by Foot Locker, and online at Footlocker.com. It will retail for $160.
