The newest version of the adidas Rose 3.0 collection drops in stores and online today, the “Chicago Fire” limited edition. When adidas originally unveiled the Derrick Rose collection, they announced that each new colorway in the series would feature a special dedication to Derrick and his beloved home city. The new “Chicago Fire” version which releases today in the bold and bright “Electricity” colorway, pays homage to the Chicago Fire Department and the city’s resolve in coping with the historic “Great Chicago Fire” in 1871 that resulted in hundreds of deaths and destroyed much of the city. D Rose still draws inspiration from the efforts of the fireman and the courageous people of that time who helped rebuild the city and return it to greatness.

The are a number of design elements on the Rose 3.0 “Chicago Fire” shoe that pay homage to Chicago’s bravest. The upper of the shoe features a heavy duty rubberized synthetic material that resembles the strong, protective feel and function of a firefighter’s turnout coat. Reflective stripes on the heel and outsole are done in grey to represent the color of the knee and elbow pads on coats and coveralls. The black SprintFrame counter has a smooth, clean finish to signify rubber fire boots. The inside of the left tongue features the universal cross symbol of firefighters with the D Rose logo in the middle and the right shoe features a lasered Derrick Rose signature. The shoes are also packaged in a special white box with a custom shoe bag.

The Rose 3 “Chicago Fire” electricity/black/metallic silver colorway is now available at select Foot Locker stores and for $180. More photos and a link to purchase can be found below. Let us know what you think and if you’ll be picking up a pair.
