The first of a slew of Air Jordan Retro IX releases that will drop over the course of what’s remaining of 2012 will be the “Johnny Kilroy” model. Named after Michael Jordan’s alter-ego, Johnny Kilroy was featured in a Nike campaign for the AJ 9, alongside Steve Martin and a group of other Michael Jordan look alikes. While Jordan was off playing baseball during his first retirement, Johnny Kilroy joined the Bulls and had many NBA stars suspicious of his likeness to MJ. Sporting the number 4 for Chicago, the Johnny Kilroy Retro IXs are one of the few pairs of Jordans that do not feature Mike’s 23. The heel of each shoe in this pair has a 4 while the name “Johnny Kilroy” is featured on the tongue instead of “Michael Jordan.” On the inside of the tongue is stitched “Kilroy Kicks Butt.” The Kilroy’s upper is made of a black leather nubuck and metallic silver tumbled leather. Gym red accents can be found on Jordan branding around the shoe and on the inner lining.

The Jordan Retro IX “Johnny Kilroy” will drop today, October 6, at Foot Locker, House of Hoops by Foot Locker, and online at Footlocker.com. They will retail for $160.
