You don’t have to sport red, white, and blue on your feet to be patriotic this weekend. Modeled after one of the most famous statues in the world, the Nike Air Max Hyperposite will release today, November 10, in a Statue of Liberty inspired colorway. As everyone knows, Lady Liberty’s iconic turquoise hue has become almost as well known as the Statue itself. Crystal mint is the official color used to match that color. Accents of metallic copper coin, mimicking the Statue’s torch, are featured all around the shoe in Nike branding as well as splotches on the Hyperfuse section of the upper. The metallic copper also represents the color the Statue originally was when it was gifted to the United States from France in 1886. Made from copper, the Statue of Liberty oxidized within the first 15 years of its existence and has been the color it is today ever since. Lucky for us, that color leads to one eye popping colorway on the Hyperposite. An icy midsole under the Air Max bubble and copper lace caps finishes off the release.
The Nike Air Max Hyperposite “Statue of Liberty” releases at House of Hoops by Foot Locker today, November 10, for $225. Will you be picking up a pair?
