The Lakers are off to a disappointing 0-2 start to their 2012-2013 season, which is a surprise. However, did anyone doubt Kobe’s shoe game would be lacking? We didn’t think so. You might recognize today’s Kobe VII release from the future Hall of Famer’s opening night game against Dallas last Tuesday. We’ve been thinking (and writing) it for a while now, but it’s very possible that today’s Nike Zoom Kobe VII “University Gold” will be the last release for the Kobe VII model. Officially a white/court purple-black-university gold release, this release has some patterns we haven’t seen on the Kobe VII yet. Aside from being the only bright color pop on the shoe, the university gold inner lining also has a subtle splotch pattern. A different black on black dot pattern is featured on the tongue and around the ankle. A white and grey speckled midsole, purple Swoosh and Kobe branding round out the release.

The Nike Zoom Kobe VII “University Gold” releases today, November 2, at House of Hoops by Foot Locker and online at for $140. A link to buy online can be found below.
