The Nike Penny V is the first new addition to Penny Hardaway’s signature line of kicks in 14 years. And, even though Penny is long retired, we’ll still get to see his shoes come out for every team he spent significant time with. We already saw the Orlando Magic colorway, where Penny spent the first six years of his career, drop in early October. Today, we’ll see the Phoenix Suns colorway released. Hardaway was dealt to the Suns at the beginning of the 1999-2000 season, where he would spend another six seasons. Though his time in Phoenix was full of injury, Penny did team up with Jason Kidd, leading the Suns to the Western Conference Finals in their first year together. Perhaps more importantly to the sneaker community, Penny’s time with the Suns lead to the colorway being released today, which is spectacular. A dark grey and black upper allows for the court purple and rave pink accents to pop extra bright. A midsole that fades from purple to pink to orange sits on top of an orange tinted Air bubble. Penny’s 1 cent logo on the tongue incorporates all of the shoe’s colors.
The Nike Air Penny V “Suns” drops today, November 3 at Foot Locker, House of Hoops by Foot Locker, and online at Footlocker.com. A link to buy online can be found below.
