Though Charles Barkley is going strong into his 13th year of retirement from the NBA, his signature shoes have hardly let up. In this year’s All-Star releases from Nike, dubbed the “Area 72″ Pack – two Barkley inspired kicks will be included. While the Barkley Posite may have more hype, the Nike Air Force Max 2013 is a dark horse for the hottest release in the Pack. The Air Force Max 2013 takes on a different colorway than the rest of the shoes it shares a Pack with. Dominated by a white speckled wolf grey upper, the AF Max 2013 “Area 72″ also includes reflective silver features around the foot arch Velcroe strap and on the heel. The Barkley teeth in the outsole which appear on numerous Chuck inspired releases also make an appearance on this release in glow-in-the-dark fashion. The “Area 72″ Raygun man logo appears on the shoe’s black tongue. Under the Velcro of the Air Force Max’s strap silver stitching spells out “TOP SECRET.” Given the name of Air Force Max 2013, you knew there had to be a tech update on this pair and there is. The entire shoe’s upper is made from one piece of material, much like the updates to some of Barkley’s other models last year.
The Nike Air Force Max 2013 Premium “Area 72″ releases today, February 15, at Foot Locker, House of Hoops by Foot Locker, and online at Footlocker.com (starting at 8am EST) for $150.
