The biggest basketball weekend of the year calls for some special releases. The Area 72 Nike Signature Player pack is an unbelievable way to kick off the weekend, but it just wouldn’t be an appropriate celebration if we didn’t bring you some additional mid-season classic heat. Enter the much anticipated Nike Barkley Posite Max Premium. Combining elements from the classic Barkley 34 silhouette and the fan-favorite Foamposite material, the launch of the Barkley Posite Max represents the birth of an instant staple in the sneaker game. This first Barkley Posite is a unique shoe with a ray gun and basketball hybrid inspired logo on the tongue. The same logo appears on each pair in the pack. A slew of materials have gone into the making of the Barkley Posite. Mesh makes up the tongue and is surrounded by 3M that is then engulfed by Foamposite. Siren red “teeth” that are on some of Barkley’s most iconic shoes from the 90’s make an appearance on this pair as they poke up through the speckled midsole. A glow-in-the-dark outsole completes the “Area 72” version of the Barkley Posite. Additional features on the release include a Charles Barkley logo on the heel and an artistically designed inner lining. A removable tag on the heel, much like the ones from last year’s Galaxy Pack, reads “CWB – 1963” and “Leeds, Alabama, USA” – Barkley’s birth year and hometown.

The Barkley Posite Max PRM QS releases today, February 16, at select Foot Locker’s, House of Hoops by Foot Locker and online at for $250.
