This past New Years Eve we saw the Air Jordan 1 Retro ’97 for the first time. Combining the silhoutte and design of the Air Jordan 1 with features from the Air Jordan XIII, the Air Jordan 1 Retro ’97 will release in two more colors this Saturday. It’s name, specifically the “’97″ is derived from the year that the AJ XIII was first released. There are two notable features taken from the XIII on these two pairs: the hologram Air Jordan logo on the ankle – that was supposed to resemble the eye of a jaguar on the original XIII’s – and the dimples surrounding the Swoosh. The rest of the upper is mostly tumbled leather with a fused toe box.
The two colorways dropping of the Air Jordan 1 Retro ’97 are black/white-gym red and white/black gym-red. Both will release this Saturday, March 2, at House of Hoops by Foot Locker and retail for $130 each. Check the Launch Locator here to see which stores are getting the pack.
