The Air Jordan 13 was the iconic shoe worn by Michael Jordan during the 1997-1998 season, the last championship season of his professional career. The “White/Black/True Red” retro version was originally released in 2010, and now, tomorrow, Saturday, March 16th these classic kicks will re-release in men’s and kids sizes at Foot Locker, House of Hoops by Foot Locker and (starting at 8:00 am EST) for $170. Air Jordan designer Tinker Hatfield drew his inspiration for the Air Jordan 13 from one of MJ’s nicknames during his career, “Black Cat.” Modeled after the speed and prowess of one of the world’s most intimating animals, the Air Jordan 13 has the panther inspiration seen all over it. The sole resembles the pads on a panther’s paws, the holograms imitate a panther’s eyes in the dark when light is shined on them, and the quilted leather upper design represents the whiskers. On this particular version, other details include a black leather toe box, nubuck midsole, and perforated tongue with a white Jumpman logo. The forefoot Zoom Air™ units and rubber sole also allow for maximum traction. Be the first to cop the re-release of this classic shoe tomorrow, Saturday March 16th.
