While the official black/black colorway might suggest a simple shoe, the newest addition to the Nike Barkley Posite Max line, the “Eggplant,”is anything but that. Combining elements from the classic Barkley 34 silhouette and the fan-favorite Foamposite material, this particular version of the Barkley Posite also incorporates the “chameleon” coloring, which we’ve already seen on the Kobe VIII and Air Penny V to stunning effect. This basketball-inspired sneaker features teal and purple accenting surrounding the mesh tongue, heel and Barkley logo’s as well as the “Not a Role Model” mantra on the outsole. In addition, this release also has a glow-in-the-dark outsole and a speckled Air Max bubble on the heel, like its predecessor the “Area 72” version. The shoe also features a carbon fiber shank for lightweight reinforcement and support as well as iridescent ribs that protrude to form a unique, beastly Foamposite exoskeleton. Pick up a pair starting tomorrow, Saturday, March 23rd at Foot Locker, House of Hoops by Foot Locker locations and online at Footlocker.com (starting at 8am EST) for $235.
