This week we’re excited to announce the launch of adidas newest basketball shoe creation, the Crazyquick. Crazyquick is the first adidas basketball shoe designed specifically to help make players quick on the court. The adidas Innovation Team (aIT) examined more than 1,000 discrete basketball movements to develop the technology in Crazyquick. The technology allows greater controlled flexibility, better traction and optimal foot lock-down for quick cuts.
The main features include the four “Quick Zones” that work with the shoe’s upper to provide maximum traction and flexibility for quick movements on court. The “Toe” zone delivers quick push-off through engineered gradual flex material and forward and backward traction orientation. The “Forefoot” zone ensures quick cuts and aggressive lateral movements through independent suspension allowed by increased flexibility of outsole, lateral traction orientation and stretch and return of TECHFIT upper. The “Midfoot” zone provides enhanced support through an increased surface area and lateral traction to provide stability while allowing the foot to flex. Finally, the “Heel” zone allows for quick multi-directional stopping through engineered flexibility and forward and backward traction.
The Crazyquick also weighs in at 11.25 ounces, making it one of the lightest mid-cut basketball shoes in the game, and a favorite of some of the quickest players in the NBA including John Wall, Damien Lillard and Jrue Holiday. NCAA teams such as the National Champion Louisville Cardinals, Wisconsin, UCLA, Cincinnati and Baylor also wore the shoe during their post-season tournaments.
The Crazyquick releases in stores and online tomorrow, May 1st and will retail for $140. We will have five different colorways (photos below) of the shoe available and we are the only retailer carrying the exclusive John Wall PE Silver/Blue/Red version. Check out the Foot Locker Launch Locator here to see which stores will be getting the Crazyquick’s and let us know what you think of the shoe in the comments.
