As the year suggests, this edition of the Retro 1 gets its inspiration and some design elements from the Retro 4 that was first released in 1989. The mid panel is made up of the netted mesh made famous by the 4s and the inspiration is completed with the square Jordan Flight logo stitched on the tongue – a logo that wasn’t actually in existence at the time of the Air Jordan I release. On Saturday, two new colorways of the Air Jordan Retro 1 ’89 will hit Foot Locker and House of Hoops by Foot Locker walls: Black/White-Green Glow-Cement Grey and White/Black-Cement Grey-Fire Red. Both colorways provide simple and fresh takes on a classic with one of them featuring the Green Glow color that has been featured on a number of Jordan releases this month.

This pair of Air Jordan 1 ’89s will drop at Foot Locker, House of Hoops by Foot Locker and online at Footlocker.com (starting at 8:00 am EDT) on Saturday, August 24. Each pair will retail for $130. Check the Launch Locator to see which stores will have this release.
