Hailing from the suburban Washington DC area, Kevin Durant has had a number of colorways of his signature kicks throughout the years paying tribute to his hometown of Seat Pleasant, Maryland. However, there have been less colorways, if any, dedicated to our nation’s capital and the city that KD group up closest to. That changes on Thursday when the Nike KD VI “DC” drops in a classic red, white, and blue colorway inspired both by the colors of the American flag and the logo of DC’s baseball team, the Nationals. Cloaked in a mostly light crimson upper, this KD VI uses obsidian for the vast majority of the accenting on the Nike branding around the shoe as well as the complete inside upper of the shoe. Beige takes care of the shoe’s midsole. The big KD logo on the outside heel of the shoe has been stylized to include stars inside of the lettering – a la the Nats logo. A special KD logo hologram is also included on the sole.
The Nike KD VI “DC” drops on Thursday, February 6 at Foot Locker, House of Hoops by Foot Locker, and online at Footlocker.com for $130. Check the Launch Locator to see which stores will have this release.
