Though the World Cup as most people know it only takes place every four years in a select host country – the four years of qualifying that teams must go through to reach the final tournament makes the World Cup the largest single-event sporting competition in the world. The 2014 tournament begins next week, on June 12, when host nation Brazil kicks the tournament off in their match against Croatia. Over the next month, 32 of the world’s top teams will take on each other all around Brazil for the chance to be crowned World Cup champs. Thankfully, you won’t have to travel all the way to Brazil to pick up your World Cup jerseys and merchandise from Nike, adidas, and Puma – we’ve got it all at Foot Locker.
