Nike Zoom Ashiko Halloween at House of Hoops Coming Soon

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

We told you about this limited total-orange Nike Zoom Ashiko back in May, but it’s going to be here in time for the Fall season, dropping soon at the House of Hoops locations. A rare ACG release at House of Hoops, this one is not to be missed. Named after ninja ashiko foot spikes, used for both climbing and defense, this boot is the first to incorporate the light-weight fly-wire support system.

Nike Ashiko: Flywire Crosses Over to Boots

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

I think of flywire as the air-bubble of the 00’s. It started off in the Hyperdunk, was embraced, spread to other basketball models like the Zoom Kobe IV, even crossed over to running in the Air Max 2009… Now it has made another leap into the ACG group with hiking boots. The holiday 2009 release of the Flnt/Gry/Blk Nike Ashiko at Foot Locker will push flywire’s lightweight support to a whole new audience. Named after ninja ashiko foot spikes, which are used for climbing and traction although they could probably double as an effective weapon, this hiking boot’s namesake is traction, but the real innovation is in support and weight. Flywire and wire mesh encircle the midfoot and ankle with the strength that is normally achieved with clunkier materials. The translucent upper gives a nice window to the stitching and the footsleeve.
I can’t say that I own many boots, or hike up anything besides stairs, but the Ashiko is something I would consider copping. What do you think? More shots after the jump and in the gallery.

Nike ACG Air Wildwood - Nintendo Inspired

Friday, November 21st, 2008

Here is a detailed look at the Nike ACG Air Wildwood which just dropped at Foot Locker stores nationwide. They are inspired by the iconic video game console - Nintendo and the D-Pad used on video game controllers. The D-Pad is still seen on video game consoles today, but back then, this was the only source of character movement in any video game, as analog sticks didn’t exist. The black portion at the base of the upper is the most unique feature, as the controller pattern can be spotted there. Other than that, the shoes feature light grey, perforated leather on the rest of the upper along with red accents including the ACG log on the midsole. via KicksOnFire.com

The Nike Air Max Foamdome Boot (ACG) combines aesthetic / technology features from the beloved Nike Foamposite and Nike Air Goadome boot. Features of the Nike Foamposite are mostly noted on the side panels which sport the same design, while details from the Air Goadome include the shoe’s overall silhouette, sole, and full length air sole unit. Will you hold out for the Royal Blue Nike Air Max Foamdome Boots? Or are these a must have? You decide. via KicksOnFire
