Thursday, August 27th, 2009

Lisa Leslie of the WNBA’s LA Sparks has been wearing a special make-up of the Nike Blue Chip II in support of Kay Yow’s Breast Cancer fund. House of Hoops previously released a pink Blue Chip and Hyperdunk in support for the same cause at the start of 2009, and all four locations will be releasing this Lisa Leslie PE today.

It features a purple nubuck upper with white contrast stitching and white leather piecing. There are touches of pink for breast cancer around the collar, stitching on the Swoosh and the outsole. Pink in February at House of Hoops

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

**UPDATE RELEASE PUSHED TO 2/9**

On 2/1 at all 3 House of Hoops locations there will be limited quantities of special edition Nike product promoting the Kay Yow WBCA Cancer Fund. The fund’s logo is featured on the tongue of special pink color-ups of the Blue Chip and Hyperdunk. A t-shirt and ball will also be available, but the pink NC State jersey pictured is not available. Kay Yow is the coach of NC State’s women’s basketball squad, and is currently on leave battling breast cancer for a third time. Her strength and spirit is an inspiration not only to her team, but to all the NCAA women’s basketball squads, some of which will be wearing the pink shoes on court in mid-February.
The Hyperdunk and Blue Chip will be available in sizes as small as 6 for the first time at House of Hoops, so some of the ladies can cop them without wearing 4 pairs of socks. I hope there are some 11’s left though, cause I’ve got to grab some. Real men wear pink, and real men fight cancer. It’s a win-win. Get yours.
