Named after ninja ashiko foot spikes, which are used for climbing and traction although they could probably double as an effective weapon, this hiking boot's namesake is traction, but the real innovation is in support and weight. Flywire and wire mesh encircle the midfoot and ankle with the strength that is normally achieved with clunkier materials. The translucent upper gives a nice window to the stitching and the footsleeve. Flywire, originally a Nike Basketball feature has since crossed over into running and hiking footwear. The Ashiko is the first ACG boot to utilize the technology. This total orange color is a limited release.
