The Kobe VII Elite “Home” is a white based shoe with gold accents on the swoosh, laces, tongue logo, and heel signature. The shoe’s pattern is reminiscent of the Kobe VI polyurethane spots, although the one’s on the Elite are raised higher and much more pronounced. The heel counter that contains Kobe’s signature is made of carbon fiber material, as well as the middle of the out-sole. Nike’s Flywire technology has been incorporated into the Elite series using Kevlar, the same material known for being bulletproof. As such the tagline for the pack has become, “Light like air, stronger than steel.” Unlike the “Away” release that is all black, you can see the Flywire on the “Home” release. The wires are yellow giving the “Home” releases a bit more color. The inner lining of the Kobe VII Elite is grey and there is clear rubber on the mid-sole that wraps under the shoe to the sole that was not as visible on the “Away” release. These will without a doubt make an appearance in the playoffs, however Nike has said that the Elite pack kicks players wear on court will have white accents instead of gold. The gold on the shoe must be earned through playoff success. The consumer, on the other hand, will get a chance to take home the gold before the players.
