Penny Hardaway wore the Air Penny II in the 1996-1997 season with the Orlando Magic. The Penny II featured an upper with flowing lines from its high-swooping, lateral Phylon midsole, and also a heel Max Air unit when Max Air meant Max Air. A beautiful semi-translucent royal blue outsole and circular traction pattern adorned the bottom of the shoe. Additional features included Penny's trademark "1 Cent" logo at the top of the tongue and 3M piping which rounded out the upper. Featuring a combination synthetic leather and nubuck, and released in three colorways, these were a widely available general release upon their initial launch, and have maintained a loyal fan base through today. -Zac, Sole Collector Magazine
