The Hyperdunk was a major break-through for basketball sneakers in 2008. Promoted mainly by Kobe Bryant, but also worn by other notable NBA stars like Pau Gasol and Dirk Nowitzki, the shoe employs super high-tech construction, including materials developed by NASA. The main goal was maximum support and minimum weight, and this was achieved using Nike's patented "fly wire" technology in the body for stability, and lightweight "lunar foam" in the sole for support. Style was also a major factor, with a variety of colorways celebrating Olympic teams and also this blk/red exclusive to Foot Locker. Other extremely limited colors like the "Marty McFly" have released, with some dropping only at House of Hoops locations.
